Excellence in Food & Drink Awards for KK Fine Foods

3663, sponsors of the prestigious Excellence in Food And Drink Awards for 2004 gathered with all the UK’s leading food manufacturers at the Dorchester Hotel, London on Friday 12th November to reveal this years winners. After a great deal of deliberation and tasting over the previous 2 months the announcement of this year’s winners and finalists for the 2004 Caterer Group Awards was made.

KK entered products into two categories this year, Best Ready Meal and Best Vegetarian and for the second year running took the award for Best Vegetarian with their Mushroom, Cranberry and Brie Wellington and their Goatscheese and Ricotto Cheesecake topped with Pan-fried vegetables was also short-listed as a finalist in this section. KK’s winning dish had proved to be exceptional product for all the judges, for its quality, taste, appearance and aroma. Appealing to a wide range of consumers it is also proving to be the caterer’s choice especially over the Christmas period for its seasonal appeal.

Another success to the KK story was their entry of the Beef and Bacon Casserole in the Ready Meals section and although it didn’t scoop the award it fought off lots of fierce competition to be short-listed down to the final three.

This was first time a meat ready meal had been entered into an awards by KK, ‘this is a real achievement for KK, it clearly shows that KK has what it takes to make luxury meat ready meals to the same standard of excellence as we have done with our vegetarian offering, these are extremely exciting awards for KK to win as we receive recognition for our work in the food industry’, explains Managing Director, Leyla Edwards. The product had the judges dreaming of country pubs and open fires.
